Question 250749: identify the slope that is parallel to these lines
y=-3x+8
and
2x-3y=6

the first one is already in proper slope form and has a slope of -3
2x-3y=6
needs to be rearranged
-3y=2x+6
y=-2x/3+6/3
y=-2x/3+2
The slope is -2/3
Lines that are parallel have the same slope.
A minus slope means it slants down from left to right

identify the slope that is parallel to these lines
y=-3x+8
Slope, m, = -3
--------
and
2x-3y=6
m = 2/3
-----------
It's not the slope that is parallel, it's the slope of lines that are parallel.
A line has a slope. The slope is a number, or value.
