Question 250573: How do you change y+2=-3(x-1) into standard form
Answer by richwmiller(17219) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y=mx+b is the standard form of a linear equation.
we want to remove the parentheses and we want just y on one side
y+2=-3(x-1)
let's deal with the parentheses first
y+2=-3x+3
now subtract 2 from both sides
y=-3x-3-2
combine like terms
I leave that for you
