Question 250359: This says to solve by the elimination method
4x+5y=2
8x+10y=4
the solution is an ordered pair can someone please help me?

Answer by richwmiller(17219)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Normally we would multiply the first equation so that 4x becomes 8x
and of course multiply the whole equation by that number
then subtract the two equations with 8x
then solve for y
But these are equivalent equations.
ie They have the same set of solutions
Are you sure you copied them correctly?
There are no solutions this way.
We basically have one equation.
