Hello,
Here's the secret to this. y=mx+b "m" is the slope of the line. So we need to put 9x + 4y = 7 in the y=mx+b form.
9x + 4y = 7 Subtract 9x from both sides to give us:
4y = -9x + 7 Now divide both sides by 4.
y = -9/4(x) + 7/4
There we go. The slope of any line parallel is -9/4
