Question 23979: 5x+1=36
Answer by yhtong(11)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Firstly you need to eliminate 1 at the left hand side (LHS) and bring it to the right hand side(RHS). In this case it will be -1 which is then be
5x=36-1 (Always leave the UNKNOWN ALONE)
continue by bringing the 5 in the 5x in the (LHS). This means 5*x, so when bringing it to the RHS, it will be /5 (divided by 5). that leaves
x=(36-1)/5
when you see that nothing is beside the unknown x, you can solve by solving the equation on the RHS which is (36-1)/5
answer is 35/5 which is =7
that leaves
x=7, thats the answer, x equals to 7.
