Question 23977: 9x+2=20
Answer by yhtong(11) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Firstly you need to eliminate the +2 at the left hand side (LHS) and bring it over to the right hand side (RHS). Doing this you'll need to change the +2 to -2. this is then will be
9x=20-2
continue by solving the equation at the (RHS)
which will be
9x=18
then to only leave the unknown on the (LHS) you'll need to bring the 9 to the (RHS)
in this case its 9x which means 9*x. so 9 will not be a -9 on the (RHS) but will be a /9 which is divide by 9. you dont need to change the + sign on the 9.
that leaves
x=18/9
x=2.
