Question 235590: I would love some help on this problem
5/4x + 1/8x =3/8 + x
what is the solution.

Answer by Alan3354(69443) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
5/4x + 1/8x =3/8 + x
Assuming that's (5/4)x and (1/8)x, not 5/(4x) and 1/(8x):
Multiply everything by 8
10x + x = 3 + 8x
11x = 3+8x
Subtract 8x
3x = 3
x = 1

I shouldn't have to guess at what you mean. Use parentheses, they're free.
