Question 231302: Write an equation of the line:
PARALLEL TO Y=1/2X - 3
Y INTERCEPT = 6
Thanks - I could solve this if they told me the coordinates, but I've only been give the y intercept (can I assume coordinates would be 0,6?). Thanks!

Answer by rfer(16322)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y=mx+b
m=slope
b=y int
parallel line just change b from -3 to 6
use the same slope
y=-1/2x+6
yes y int =(0,6)
