Find the slope from the equation.
Step 1. The slope-intercept from is given as y=mx+b where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept at x=0 or at point (0,b).
Step 2. Put the given equation in slope intercept form.
Add 2y to both sides of the equation
Divide by to 2 both sides of the equation
or
Step 3. Comparing with we see the slope m=2 and the y-intercept b=-5 when x=0 or at point (0,b) or (0,-5).
Step 4. ANSWER: The slope m=2.
I hope the above steps were helpful.
