Question 222585: find the equation of the line parallel to 3x-5y=-7 and goes through(-8,-2)
Answer by checkley77(12844)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3x-5y=-7 and goes through(-8,-2)
-5y=-3x-7
y=-3x/-5-7/-5
y=3x/5+7/5
Here we have a slope=3/5
A paralel line will also have a slope=3/5.
-2=3/5*-8+b
-2=-24/5+b
b=-2+24/5
b=(-2*5+24)/5
b=(-10+24)/5
b=14/5 the y intercept.
y=3x/5+14/5
(graph 300x200 pixels, x from -6 to 5, y from -10 to 10, 3x/5 +24/5).
