Question 217401: Solve the equation by any system:
x = 3/2y + 5
2x - 3y = 11

Answer by drj(1380)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve the equation by any system:

or equivalently where we multiplied by 2 to both sides of the equation to get rid of the denominator and subtracted 3y from both sides of the equation.
So we now have
Equation A
Equation B

We see that the left side of Equations A and B are identical. So when we subtract equation A from Equation B, we have 0=1 or subtract B from equation A and we get 0=-1 which are not true statements.

ANSWER: As a result, there is no solution to this equation.

I hope the above steps were helpful.
