Question 215099: Determing if these two lines are either Parallel, intersecting or coincident
Line 1 2x+3y=5
Line 2 x-3/2y=10

Show work

Answer by checkley77(12844)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Line 1 2x+3y=5
3y=-2x+5
y=-2x/3+5/3 (red line)
Line 2 x-3/2y=10
-3y/2=-x+10
y=-x/(-3/2)+10/(-3/2)
y=-x*-2/3+10*-2/3
y=2x/3-20/3 (green line)
(graph 300x200 pixels, x from -6 to 10, y from -10 to 10, of TWO functions -2x/3 +5/3 and 2x/3 -20/3).
These are intersecting lines.
