Question 208570: Find the equations in standard form with all coefficient integers of the line perpendicular to x + 3y = 6 and passing through (-3,3)
Answer by checkley77(12844) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x + 3y = 6
(a line perpendicular to & passing through (-3,3))
3Y=-X+6
Y=-X/3+6/3
Y=-X/3+2 THIS LINE HAS A SLOPE=-1/3.
A PERPENDICULAR LINE HAS A SLOPE=3
3=-3*3+b
3=-9+b
3+9=b
b=12 THE Y INTERCEPT OF THE PERPENDICULAR LINE.
Y=3X+12
