Question 2072: Please solve this inequality.
5x-2(7x+1)=14x
Answer by matthew_sessoms(39) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
First substract 5x from both sides
-2(7x+1)=9x
Now, distribute the -2
-14x-2=9x
Now, simplify
-23x=2
x=-2/23
CHECK:
5(-2/23)-2(7(-2/23)+1)=14(-2/23)
-10/23 -2(-14/23 + 1) = -28/23
-10/23 + 28/23 - 2 = -28/23
-56/23 + 28/23 = -28/23
-28/23 = -28/23
