Question 205376: solve by Elimination Using Addition and Subtraction method
2x + 4y = 8
y - 3 = x
Answer by checkley77(12844) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2x + 4y = 8
y - 3 = x multiply by 2 & add.
2y-6=2x
-2x+2y=6
2x+4y=8
---------
6y=14
y=14/6
y=7/3 ans.
7/3-3=x
(7-3*3)/3=x
(7-9)/3=x
-2/3=x ans.
Proof:
2*-2/3+4*7/3=8
-4/3+28/3=8
24/3=8
8=8
