I know you have already received an answer to this problem, but you were given the answer that the slope of your equation y = 7 was 9. I have all respect for the person that told you that but they are wrong. The slope for the equation y = 7 is not 9 --- it is 0. (I think the previous answer person just made a typo and pressed a 9 on his keyboard when he meant to press 0)


See, you have a line of y = 7 and any time you have an equation where y equals a number, you are going to have a horizontal line. In every horizontal line, the slope is 0.


If you had a line of x = 7, (or any time you have an equation where x equals a number) then you would have a vertical line. In every vertical line, the slope is undefined.


In equations of lines that are in the format of y = mx + b, the slope is represented by the "m". SOooooo, if you had a line that was:


y = 2x + 3, the slope would be "2".
