In general, you cannot say that an equation is more informative than a graph or vice versa.

To say that a thing is informative presumes that there is a question being asked that the thing is capable of answering. A graph answers some questions better than an equation. An equation answers other questions better than a graph.

So the answer to your question is "Neither or both" for the reasons stated.
