The following two points define a line: (3, 7) and (x, 9). Explain which value of x will give you a vertical line and write the equation of that vertical line.
--------------
"Vertical" lines are parallel to the y-axis. The value of x is the distance from the y-axis, so for all values of y, x is constant.
x = 3
x = 3 is the equation of the line thru those 2 points.
