Use rules of exponents to find the exact value of 16^(-3/4)

The "negative" means invert.
The 3 means cube
the 4 means take the 4th root.

These three instructions may be performed in any order.
-----
Take the 4th root and get 2^(-3)
-----
Invert and you get: (1/2)^3
---------
Cube and you get: 1/8
