hi,
i have done so many simultaneous equation solutions on here...have a look at those. Remember, you need to add or subtract the 2 equations together to remove one of the unknowns. Once don, you can find te remaining unknown.
If you never know whether to add or substract the equations, look at the signs of the letter you are trying to remove:
if the signs are the Same then Subtract...SSSSSSSSSSSSS Subtract
if the signs are Different then aDD...DDDDDDDDDDDD Add :-D
