Question 182548: 3.
this one I just don't understand. Please help if you can.
1. How many solutions of a system of two linear equations in two unknowns can exist?
2. How would each possible number of solutions appear graphically?
3. Create systems of linear equations with each possible number of solutions.
thank you.
Answer by eperette(173) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1) One, None, or infinitely many
2) One--two lines intersect each other at one point only
None--two lines are parallel to each other (they have the same slope/rate of change)
Infinitely Many--two lines intersect each other at all points (one line lies right on top of the other)
3) One
y-3x=7
3y+x=-8
none
y-3x=7
y-3x=-10
infinitely many
y-3x=7
2y-6x=14
