x+y=1500..............eq 1
.05x+.07y=504.........eq 2

this is the way this problem would be written up .But there is a problem

The scenario as written is IMPOSSIBLE
:
1500 at 5% is 75 dollars
1500 at 7% is 105 dollars
:
as you can see no combination of money invested in this scenario will come close to 504 dollars

and 15000 would be too much.
