Question 178798: If a line passes through (5, 2) and has a slope of 2/3, then what is the value of y on this line when x = 8, x=11 and x= 12?
Answer by Mathtut(3670)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
use point slope formula
:
y-2=(2/3)(x-5)
:
y-2=2/3x-10
:
y=(2/3)x-8
:
so for
x=8: y=2/3(8)-8=16/3-24/3=-8/3
:
x=11: y=2/3(11)-8=22/3-24/3=-2/3
:
x=12: y=2/3(12)-8=8-8=0
