John plans a road trip from Chicago to Detroit in his Toyota with an overnight stay in Hammond,Indiana. On Wednesday, he drove from Chicago to Hammond to Detroit at an average speed of 69 mph. His driving time on Thursday is 2 hours longer than his driving time on Wednesday. If the total distance from Chicago to Detroit is 326 miles, then what is the total number of hours he drove on both days? How far is Detroit from Hammond?

if drive time from Chicago to Hammond = t and drive time from Hammond to Detroit is r=t+2 then
:
t+(t+2)=4.72

2t=2.72

hours driven from Chicago to Hammond

hours driven from Hammond to Detroit
:
so since he drove for 3.36 hours @ 69mph then the distance from Hammond to Detroit is miles
