Piece 2=X+3
Piece 3=X+3+4
X+X+3+X+3+4=64
Combine like terms
3X+10=64
Subtract 10 from both sides
3X=54
Divide both sides by 3
X=18
Therefore Piece 1=18in

Piece 3=25in
