Question 140874: -5(x+2)+3=5
Answer by rapaljer(4671)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
First, remove the parentheses by distributive property:
-5(x+2)+3=5
-5x -10 +3 = 5

Combine like terms on the left side:
-5x -7=5

Next, add +7 to each side:
-5x -7+7=5+7
-5x=12

Finally, divide both sides by -5:

or -2 2/5 or -2.4
