Question 131412: If I was given the problem 3y=-4x-6 I would change it to y=-4/3x-2 And if I was asked to plot this using ordered pairs using y as 0 the x axis would be 3/2. But how would you graph 3/2 the a graph? I know with the slope you would go up 3 and over 2 but what about with ordered pairs?

---------------------------------------------
OK
If x=0, y = -2
Plot that point.
----------------
Now, the slope is (-4/3) which you can write as (4)/(-3)
That means,"as x increases 4, y decreases3"
----------------------
Start at (0,-2); move 4 units to the right; then move 3 units down.
You are now at (4,-5).
Put a point there.
Draw a line thru the two points.
That is the graph you want.
