THE ANSWERS ARE NO & NO!!!!!!
FIRST YOU NEED TO FIND THE SLOPE FOR THE LINE EQUATION [Y=mX +b] WHERE m=SLOPE & b=Y INTERCEPT.
THE SLOPE (m) IS (Y2-Y1)/(X2-X1).
(-2,-4)(1,-1)
(-1-4)/(1+2)
-5/3 IS THIS SLOPE.
NOW REPLACE THE X & Y VALUES & SOLVE FOR THERE Y INTERCEPT (b).
-4=-5/3*-2+b
-4=10/3+b
b=-4+10/3
b=(-12+10)/3
b=-2/3
THUS THE EQUATION IS:
Y=-5X/3-2/3 (RED LINE).
------------------------------
(2,4)(-3,-1)
(-1-4)/(-3-2)
-5/-5=1 FOR THIS SLOPE.
4=1*-1+b
4=-1+b
b=4+1
b=5
THUS THE EQUATION FOR THIS LINE IS:
Y=X+5 (GREEN LINE).
ANSWER IS (-2,3).
(graph 300x200 pixels, x from -6 to 5, y from -10 to 10, of TWO functions -5x/3 -2/3 and x +5).
