Start with the given expression

Cross multiply


Multiply 8 and 3 to get 24


Divide both sides by 4 to isolate x

cross multiply now we get :

4 * x = 8 * 3

==> 4x = 24

divide by 4 on both sides

==>

==> x = 6

thus the solution
