per minute. the monthly cost c of long distance calls can be described by the equation c=0.05m+4.95, where m is the number of minutes
1)find the y-intercept of the graph of the equation
2)graph the equation
3)if you talk 140 minutes, what is the monthly costfor long distance

Ok
so this is what we got to do.
a) the y intercept is 4.95 because it is the base or initial cost and if you talk no minutes you still pay that amount.
b) plot a point at 4.95 and then go 0.05 up and 1 sideways.so you have your graph.
c)y= 0.05m+4.95
y= 0.05(140) +4.95
y= 7+4.95
y= 11.95
the cost for 140 minutes is $ 11.95.
