Question 124106: Can you solve : Find the equation of the line in slope intercept form that passes through the point (2,5) and is perpendicular to the line 3x-4y =1
Thank you Answer by RoMaR(3) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! y=(3x-1)/4
so the slope of the first graph is 3/4
since the line is perpendicular it shoulde be the negative reciprocal of the slope of the first graph
Using the point-slope form of equation:
y-5=-4/3(x-2) then evaluating
y=(-4/3)x+(8/3)+5
3y=-4x+8+15
Then the equation if the graph in standard form|
4x+3y-23=0
