If both work together assemble 100cars, with crew B working 10 days longer than crew A,
how many days must crew B work?

The setup equation is

     +  +  = 100


Here 2/5 cars per day is the rate of work for team A;

     3/7 cars per day is the rate of work for team B;

     d is the number of days for two teams to work together.


To solve, multiply all the terms by 35.  You will get

    10*3*5 + 2*7*d + 3*5*d = 3500.


Simplify and find "d"

    150 + 14d + 15d = 3500

             29d    = 3500 - 150 

             29d    =    3350

               d    =    3350/29 = 115.


ANSWER.  Crew B should work 10 + 115 = 125  days.
