you want to graph y = 3x - 2.
your slope is 3 and your y-intercept is -2, based on the equation.
here's the graph that i got using desmos.com/calculator.

your equation is y = 3x - 2
the slope is 3.
the y-intercept is -2.
the y-intercept is at (0,-2)
the x-intercept is the value of x when y is 0.
the equation of y = 3x - 2 becomes 0 = 3x - 2
solve for x to get x = 2/3.
the x-intercept is at (2/3,0)

we have confirmed that the y-intercept is -2 and the x-intercept is 2/3.

the slope is (y2-y1)/(x2-x1).
when (x1,y1) = (0,-2) and (x2,y2) = (2/3,0), the slope becomes:
(0--2) / (2/3 - 0) which becomes 2/(2/3) which becomes 2*3/2 which becomes 3.
the slope is 3.

let me know if you have any questions.

to graph this linear equation, you need two points
if y-intercept is (,), that is one point
we can find x-intercept (,) as second point

=>x-intercept (,)

plot these points and draw a line through

The point (0,-2) is one of two points needed to plot this straight line.

To get to another point, move 3 units up and 1 unit right to get to (1,1)

Plot the points (0,-2) and (1,1) to help graph this straight line.

The motion pattern "up 3, right 1" is directly from the slope 3 = 3/1
slope = rise/run = 3/1
rise = 3 = go up 3
run = 1 = go right 1

Desmos can be used to confirm the answer. It is a free online graphing calculator. GeoGebra is another alternative. Or you can use something like a TI84 if you are familiar with it.
