Question 1200255: Find the equation of the line with a y-intercept of -2 and a slope of -(6/5). Express the equation of the line in slope-intercept form, y=mx+b.
So I know I need to put this into y=mx+b so
-2=-(6/5)(0)+b
Would this mean that b=-2? so then it would be y=-(6/5)x-2 as the answer?
Any help is greatly appreciated :)
Answer by josgarithmetic(39617) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Looks like an understandable process.
-------------and you are given m and (x,y).
-------------the y-axis intercept.
BUT YOU DID NOT NEED TO GO THROUGH ALL OF THAT!!!
Follow this way -----------------------
------form you know
-------this was GIVEN
-------this was GIVEN.
Just substitute directly. No need for the calculations.
