Solve for y in terms of x, and put into format, y=mx+b.
Slope will be m;
y-intercept will be b.

For your info and correct wording:

    Equation never has slope and intercepts.

    Straight line has the slope and intercepts.

I tell you about it,  because incorrect wording makes very bad impression in Math.

It is enough to pronounce/ (to use)  one term incorrectly to ruin a reputation . . .

--------------

It is the same as if you are sitting in a conservatory hall and listening Vivaldi,

and suddenly a pianist, instead of following the written musical notes,
press a whole octave with the whole palm.

I am sure, half of listeners in the concert hall would get a heard attack of it . . .
