Find an equation of the line passing through the points (3, -5) with the slope m= -3/8
:
Using the point/slope equation, y - y1 = m(x - x1)
x1=3
y1=-5
m = -3/8
we have
y - (-5) = (x - 3)
y + 5 = x +
y = x + - 5
Change 5 to 40/8
y = x + -
:
y = x -
