I need to find the linear equation in slope form of a line that passes through the point (1, 4) and has the slope of -2.
:
Using the mx + b = y where:
m = -2
x = 1
y = 4
:
Find b
-2(1) + b = 4
-2 + b = 4
b = 4 + 2
b = 6
The equation in point/slope form
y = -2x + 6
