the formula is:
c = 50 + 3.50 * x
c is the total cost
x is the number of hours.
if you rent the truck for 5 hours, then x = 5 and the formula becomes:
c = 50 + 3.50 * 5
solve for c to get:
c = 67.5 dollars.
