Write the equation, in slope-intercept form, of the line passing through the two points (2, -5) and (4, 7).
Starting with the general form y = mx + b, you can first find the slope, m.
So now you have:
To find the value of b, the y-intercept, you substitute the x and y of this equation with the x and y of either one of the two given points and solve for b. We'll use the first point (2, -5), so x = 2 and y = -5
Subtract 12 from both sides.
The final equation is:
