Solve the system of linear equations.
-3x-6y=5
4x+8y=5
I think that my teacher wants me to use the multiplication method. Like when you multiply one of the equations by something so that the y's or x's are exact opposites so they can add together and be solved. I just can't figure out what to add, nothing seems to work evenly.

you're right about the solution technique
___ but in this case it is easier to multiply both equations to get the right numbers

first equation by 4 gives -12x-24y=20

second equation by 3 gives 12x+24y=15

adding the two new equations gives 0=35; since this is not true, the equations are inconsistent
___ there is no solution
