Question 11280: A videocassette manufacturer has determined that its weekly cost equation is C = 2000 + 10x, where x is the number of cassettes produced and sold each week. If the cassettes are sold for $14 to distributors, how many must be sold each week for the manufacturer to break even?
Answer by askmemath(368)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Each sale brings in $14
Total cost = 2000+10X
If X cassettes are made and sold,14X is the revenue.To break even,amount spent must equal amount coming in due to sales
14X= 2000+10X
Subtracting 10X on both sides
4X =2000
X = 500 meanin 500 cassettes are to be made and sold to break even
