Mary is 15 km away from Hall Beach.
She is travelling north at a speed of 25 km/h.
When they pass each other, how far will they be from Hall Beach?

from the information given we know they are 20 km apart travelling towards each other
Their relative speed: 40 + 25 = 65 km/hr
therefore
= hr is the time for them to meet
Find how far Mary travels in that time
*25 = 7.7 km
therefore
15 + 7.7 = 22.7 km from Hall Beach when they meet

*40 = 12.3 mi from 35 mi from Hall beach
