(just subtract 3 from both sides of the equal sign).

2y = 4x + 2       (1)                                                                    
Y + 3 = 2x        (2)

Divide the first equation by 2 (both sides) and write both equations in the standard form.

2x - y = -1,
2x - y =  3.


You see that the left sides of these equations are identical, while right sides are different.


Therefore, the original system of two equations has no solutions.
