Hi there,
Using the ordered pairs (2, 5) and (4, 1)
Gradient = y2 - y1/x2 - x1 = 1 - 5/4 - 2 = -4/2 = -2
Using gradient = -2 and (4, 1)
y - b = m(x - a)
y - 1 = -2(x - 4)
y - 1 = -2x + 8
y = -2x + 8 + 1
y = -2x + 9
