Question 1072155: A survey of height and weight is completed for a group of men. The average height is 71 inches and the SD is 5 inches and the average weight is 189 pounds and the SD is 41 pounds. A scatter diagram is plotted and the correlation coefficient is found to be 0.75.

Find the linear regression line. y=
therefore slope= 0.75*sdy/sdx=
0.75-41/5= 6.15
y=6.15x-b
41=6.15 *5= 10.25
y= 6.15x+1025 but it is incorrect
What am I doing wrong?

you are graphing the whole line so it should be:
The regression line would be:
y = μ_y + (x - μ_x ) * r * sd_y / sd_x
=> y = 189 + (x - 71) * 0.75 * 41 /5
=> y = 189 + 6.15x - 436.65
=> y = 6.15x - 247.65
