Question 1066269: Find the rules for the composite functions f ○ g and g ○ f
f(x) = 8x^2 + 3x + 4; g(x) = x + 8

Answer by Boreal(15235)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
f o g=8(x+8)^2+3(x+8)+4
=8(x^2+16x+64)+3x+24+4
=8x^2+131x+540
g o f=8x^2+3x+4+8
=8x^2+3x+12
For the first, you take g(x) and put it everywhere you see an x in f(x) and do the appropriate operations. For the second, you do the same thing.
