Question 1063452: Find the intercepts for x and y with -5x + 6y = 100 can some one explain how to do that please?
Answer by rothauserc(4718) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
-5x + 6y = 100
:
there are two situations to consider
:
if x = 0, then
:
6y = 100
:
y = 16.6666 approximately 16.7
:
this is the y intercept and the point is (0, 16.7)
:
if y = 0, then
:
-5x = 100
:
x = -20
:
this is the x intercept and the point is (-20, 0)
:
here is a graph of the line
