Point-slope form:
y - - 6 = 1(x - - 4) ------- Substituting (- 4 , - 6) for, and 1 for m
y + 6 = x + 4
----- Subtracting 6 from each side
It's as SIMPLE as that.....nothing COMPLEX!
You're given a POINT and the slope. ALL you need to do is just SUBSTITUTE, nothing else, regardless what other people who don't have a CLUE might say!
