Question 1057616: Sketch a graph of the equation. 3x-y=2
Answer by addingup(3677) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3x-y = 2
3x-2 = y
y = 3x-2 now we have the equation in slope-intercept form, y = mx+b. Since the intercept is the point where the line intersects y, right off the bat we have two points (0, -2)
Let's find two more so we can draw a line. Set y to 0:
3x-0 = 2
3x = 2
x = 2/3
Set y to 1:
3x-1 = 2
3x = 3
x = 1 This is easier to graph, let's use it. So now we have:
(1, 1), (0, -2)mark the two points on graphing paper and draw a line over the two points:
