Isolate the term 3y in the left side. For it, move the term -6x to the right side changing its sign. You will get

3y = -9 + 6x.  (*)


It is the same as to add 6x to both sides of the original equation.


As the next (and the last) step, divide both sides of the equation (*) by 3. You will get


y = 2x - 3.
